BIOGRAPHY
In the beginning...

With a career spanning 20 years and a backlog of releases, Leon has been busy to say the least. Stemming from a musical background, Leon specialised in lead guitar as his first instrument and spent most of his teenage years in various bands performing anything from Heavy metal to 60's-70's Rock'n'Roll.

1992-1998
He first started programming music in 1992 and then bought his first studio setup in 1998,
Leon sent his first demo to moving shadow and won the diesel u-music drum and bass award using skitz as an artist name.
shortly after he took on the Leon Switch artist name.

2001
Soon to follow was his debut release in 2001 on Unkut Recordings.
​
2002
2002 saw the birth of Defcom Records along with the partnership of Kryptic Minds, and a massive passion for deep dark Drum and Bass.
With releases on imprints such as MetalHeadz, Frequency, Freak, Monitor and Penetration to name just a few, he had recorded and remixed for some of the scenes true pioneers.
2007
2007 was to see his debut Album 'Lost all Faith'.

2008-2009
2008/9 and a change of tempo and name, pushed him into the limelight.
Now writing under the Kryptic Minds moniker, the 'One of us' album was released on Swamp81 and the international touring started. Reaching places as far as New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong and then out to places such as Moscow, Siberia, Ukraine, but not forgetting nearly all of Europe in his home times...
2011
The releases continued on imprints such as Tectonic and Osiris Music Uk and then Black Box released the 'Cant Sleep' Album in 2011.
2013
2013 and Hollywoods motion picture 'Elysium' features his track 'Six Degrees' at a pinnacle moment in the film and then The 'Namaste EP' got released and saw the long awaited 'Badman VIP' hit the shelves.

2014
2014 saw Leon branch out on his own again and imediately sign to the legendary Distance's imprint Chestplate, with his debut tracks Deadlock and Persepolisia, alongside his long awaited 'Leon Switch Presents Deep, Dark Dubstep' sample pack for Loopmasters.
2016
2016 and his second release on Chestplate - Intrepid backed with Overlook, and then he released his 'Leon Switch Sample Series Vol 1', with accompanying tutorial series videos.
2017
2017 'Leon Switch - Construction Kits' is released, and then Leon's album 'War Trax' which was written and produced as the soundtrack for R8Games ltd. Fusion Formula, the AG racing game of 2017.
2018
2018 'Leon Switch - Sample series Vol 2' is released as well as remixes on various labels, his fifth tour of America and various shows across Europe. He also started part-time teaching at 808 Music School and joined Education and Bass for online tutorials and live seminars/workshops.
2019
2019 has seen a rise in the educational workshops/seminars across the UK as well as in Prague, and he starts his own record label Kuro Records alongside his collaborative group NoTaN, which includes Kelly Dean (LA) and Christian Engelen AKA Kwizma (Netherlands) and their first EP 'Full Control'.
Kuro003 saw Leons first ep on the label with 2 Collaborations, FlipzMC on the Lamb to a lion track and alys be with the title track box clever and what you do to me.
Leon Switch Sample Series Vol 3 hit the shelves.
November 2019 saw Leon start the soundtrack for the VR game 'Distortion VR', an ongoing project that has him involved from early in the game.
2020
Leon starts online streaming studio sessions, does remixes for the likes of 'Dissected Culture' and 'Fat Kid on Fire', finishes the 'Distortion VR' album and starts on a short film score.

2021
November 2021 and Leon Switch Sample Series Vol 4 hits the stores.
The half-time Syntax EP is released on Kuro records featuring both a solo track from leon and the title track from the collaboration project Notan.

2022
Kuro releases the alys be ep Against the grain and saw Leon Remix the Kelly Dean and Alys be Lost track as well as the title track against the grain by notan and the third track saw kelly dean remix the box clever track by leon and alys.

2023
Leon's Into the deep ep is released kuro008
Leon starts his patreon page to accompany his youtube channel memberships alongside his private discord.
2023 - now
mainly concentrating on his youtube and patreon channels
Ventured into eurorack and diy modules.
Collaborations
Leon has several collaborations on the go with many artists and companies, including:
Italian composer, arranger , producer and guitarist Eraldo Bernocchi, in a project called Rotor.
